Douglas McCarthy, president of Issues Research, co-authored the chartbook with Sheila Leatherman, research professor at the University of North Carolina School of Public Health. The chartbook was funded and published by The Commonwealth Fund

Quality of Health Care for Children and Adolescents, the second in the Commonwealth Fund chartbook series, was released in April 2004 at the National Press Club. Through 40 charts and analysis, the chartbook illustrates that American children largely don't get the quality of health care that they should.
